THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

With the gift of this Challenge Coin
comes the ultimate challenge.
Whom shall you serve?

The Ten Commandments are the standard by which God will judge every person. If you look into the mirror of God's law, you will see yourself as God sees you – as one who has broken His law and sinned against Him. "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it" (James 2:10). God, being a righteous and holy Judge, must punish sin. "Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience" (Ephesians 5:6). When God finds you guilty of breaking His law, He will sentence you to eternity in hell as the just punishment for your sins against Him.

But God is also merciful and kind. He has provided the only means of escape from His just wrath in hell. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). God the Father sent His Son Jesus (fully God and fully man) to Earth. He lived the perfect life that you cannot live. 33 years later, He was crucified, taking upon Himself the wrath of God the Father that sinners deserve. Three days later He rose from the dead, forever defeating sin and death.

So, what must happen in order for you to avoid God's wrath in hell and have peace with God? Your only hope is to become "born again" (John 3:3). Being born again is a supernatural work that only God can do when He gives you a new heart and dwells in you in the person of the Holy Spirit. Upon being born again, God will change your attitude toward sin (repent) and He will cause you to turn from your sin and put your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
