Top Book of 2008

This last year God has given me a passion for reading books. Specifically books related to Him. I have enjoyed reading solid theological books that help me understand Him better and that helps in my relationship with Him. I've also enjoyed giving books to my friends and I have seen first hand the impact some of these books have made on those around me. I have not always had a love of reading and if you are reading this and don't enjoy reading books then let me encourage you to ask God to give you a passion and love for it. If you love Jesus I can guarantee you that you will love reading about Him.

Before I announce my top book for 2008 (these books do not have to be written in 2008), here is a sampling of some very good books that I highly recommend:

Hard To Believe, The Truth War and the Gospel According To Jesus by John MacArthur.
Nine Marks of a Healthy Church by Mark Dever.
I would also be remiss not to mention the the ESV Bible that came out in 2008. It is very good.

Now for my top book of 2008. While all the books were excellent that I previously mentioned, one book stood out for how it not only impacted my family but how i saw it impact others. I am literally seeing Christians change before my eyes after reading this book.

Family Driven Faith by Voddie Bauchum is my favorite book of 2008.

Hi Travis,

My son and I also read this book this year as part of his parenting class. We both got so much out of it. Our family worship time has become more consistent and meaningful. We had the oppotunity to hear Dr. Baucham speak at The Master's College in October. Great talk about the importance of biblical manhood. So I second your praise of this book and encourage everyone to read it.
