Armor of God Project: Urgency Required
"I am working the streets and need a vest, I have very little money and 3 small children and would like to have a vest to best protect me. We have already had 2 officers shot in the department this last year. Thank you in advance for your help."
This is the latest vest request from the Armor of God Project. Our work is urgent, not only because of testimonies like this but because of the eternal consequences of an officer dying without Christ. In the last 7 days, 7 officers have died in the line of duty. Two this evening in my state.
In addition to a free ballistic vest to officers that need them, we also provide the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The vests are simply the tool we use to introduce the officers to Jesus Christ.
If you don't have a used vest to donate, you can still help. $11 will help us ship one vest. Any donation can help us continue this important project. You can donate online here or through the mail here.

Voddie Baucham - Brokenness
I was blessed to be present for the below sermon and was able to speak briefly with Pastor Baucham afterwards. This was preached in Muscle Shoals, Alabama at the 2009 True Church Conference. Portions of this sermon also appeared on an excellent resource produced by Wretched Television. The conference was incredible and I would highly recommend the 2010 Conference, February 18-21, 2010. The Topic this year is Evangelism. I hope to see you there.

Project Ezra
Tony Miano is the founder and former Director of Ten-Four Ministries. As many of you may know, Tony left Ten-Four Ministries and began working for Living Waters, a ministry dedicated to Evangelism. Tony has began a project that we highly endorse. The Ezra Project promotes the public reading of The Bible. A video on the project is below.

Mobile Police Joins The Armor of God Project
MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile Police Department takes time every year to makes sure all of its field officers have body armor.
Bulletproof vests, typically expire within five years, making them useless to MPD.
"We didn't do much of anything with them quite frankly, we would destroy them in some fashion and that's just a waste of something that's of use to someone," said Mobile Police Chief Phillip Garrett.
The vests are still useful because in some instances they'll work, even though the warranty is out.
So, when Police Chief Phillip Garrett heard about a project that gives expired vests to officers with nothing, he decided to get involved.
"This is an opportunity to put them to use, to donate them to someone that needs one but can't afford it," Garrett said.
Chief Garrett also says the plan is to donate many of these expired bullet proof vests for years to come.
"We're got about 50 right now that we can send and we'll do that and then in the future, we'll just put them aside."
The vests will go to officers not just in rural police departments, but all over the world.
Chief Garrett says if these vests save just one life, it will be worth the effort.
"Something is better than nothing and our experience with the vests, even after the expiration date they still work."
The Mobile police force receives grant money to buy new vests on a regular basis.

Meet Mr. Justin Peters
Our good friend Trish over at Fish With Trish interviewed Justin Peters and I have posted it below. If you have not heard of Justin Peters then let me encourage you to watch this video and visit his website.
I have been blessed to watch and read Justin's materials. I am looking forward to working with Justin in the very near future. Justin's seminars in reference to the Word of Faith Movement are excellent.

Ten-Four Ministries Distribution Center
I recently came back from taking our church's youth group to the Anchored In Truth Reality Check Conference in Chattanooga, TN. It was an incredible conference with solid biblical teaching that frankly we could not find at any youth conference near our church. Thus we travelled the 800 miles and one of the benefits was getting to stop at the Ten-Four Ministries Distribution Center.
Now a couple of questions may come to your mind. Why does the ministry need a Distribution Center? And what does that cost?
We didn't know that we needed a Distribution Center until in God's providence, He provided one through a generous donor who gave us the location with free rent. At the time, we were housing ballstic vests that were donated to us through the Armor of God Project in a storage unit and that was plenty of room. Well, little did we know that in just a few months we would have hundreds of vests and that is why we were provided the Warehouse.
On the way home from the youth trip, I got the chance to see the Center for the first time and I was blown away by what I saw. Hundreds of mostly new vests ready to be sent out to officers that need them - not only free of charge but along with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lt. Reck and Ray Mahan, Co-Founders of the Armor of God Project hold up a female vest that was donated from the officer's daughter after the death of the officer.
My son having some fun and wearing one of the donated vests, in excellent condition.
Our youth group looks on as Ray discusses the importance of The Great Commission with them.

Vacation Bible School Gospel Message
My family is blessed to be at a church that is grounded in a very biblical way. My children recently attended Vacation Bible School and below is one of the Gospel presentations given by my Pastor, Robert Haling.
As you will see, the truth of the scriptures are not altered or watered down because children are present. God's Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11) and scripture does not permit man to alter the Gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of the age of those hearing it. I am very concerned with that I have seen in youth programs, etc. in our churches.
The concept of a Church VBS/Youth Program should not be to alter the Word of God or to gain "decisions" or "numbers" for Christ. The goal is to faithfully present God's Word and let God change the hearts of those that hear. I am so privileged to be in a church that believes in that.

The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry
I recently discovered a Christian film that is opening on September 18th and I was absolutely blown away by the movie. I was originally asked by a local representative of the movie to endorse the movie and I asked to see it first.
To say I was surprised by what I saw is an understatement.
There are many movies called "Christian" but The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry is the ultimate Christian movie. Bible verses are read in whole throughout the movie and Christ plays a prominant role in this movie.
I was so touched by this movie, I contacted the producer, Rich Christiano, and spoke to him on the phone. This movie may not play in your town and I would highly encourage you to do what you can to help this movie. Talk to your theaters, talk to your church and more importantly, find a place to see it on opening weekend. That will determine how long it stays in the theater and the opportunities unbelievers will have to see this movie.
