Kenny was our guest during the first hour of The Way of the Master Radio show. He was at the courthouse for a probationary progress report, stemming from a DUI case. By his own admission, Kenny had driven while under the influence of pain medication. Kenny struggled with pain medication dependency, as a result of a series of back injuries. He said that the struggle is now behind him.
My impression of Kenny was that he was a man who had been through a lot--both physically and emotionally. I found him to be a very nice man who seemed to have a humble spirit.
Kenny's conversation with Ray Comfort and Todd Friel seemed to go very well. As is my custom, once Kenny got off the phone I asked, "So, how did it go?"
"That went fine."
"Was there anything in the conversation that stood out to you?"
"Well, yeah. He reminded me that if you break any of the commandments, you are what the commandment is saying."
We talked for about fifteen minutes. Although Kenny professed to be born again, you will hear in the audio that Kenny believes a gospel that differs from the gospel of Scripture.
Please pray for Kenny. Pray that what he heard today will be used by God to bring him to genuine repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It was yet another good day of fishing at the courthouse.

Law-man, you are the man.
Kenny was like so many people that I have shared my faith with. In this community, they have been inoculated from the truth by a soft Gospel, and even worse by generational churches which look more like social clubs. When you challenge them as to their faith, they cannot even articulate their hope beyond being a good person, church attendance, doing more good than bad, etc.
I even had someone quote Led Zepplin to me. "Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, theres still time to change the road you're on"
All you can say is its the long run, and who is going to make it? we'll find out in the long run. You know, we can take if our love is a strong one.
I guess that means endless love. I guess if there is only you in my life, the only thing thats right. My first love, you are every step I take, Your every breath I make.
So, every breath you take, every move you make, every step you take, Every single day, every word you say, every game you play, every night you stay, I will be watching you.
So I guess you can say I am your private eye, watching you, I see your every move.
How am I doing? You should have at least five songs in your head.
Keep doing what you are doing, Law Man. This Pastor gains encouragement from your work.
Now that took some work! :-)
By the way, isn't the first song by the Eagles and not Led Zepplin?
Thanks for starting my day with a plethora of old songs. :-)
No, dude...
Song 1- Led Zepplin "Stairway to Heaven"
Song 2 -Eagles "The Long Run"
Song 3- Diana Ross "Endless Love"
Song 4- Police-"Every Breath you Take"
Song 5-Hall and Oates-"Private Eyes"
Not hard work at all, it comes from a wasted youth and a photographic memory.
Keep up the good work!
I think you have.....too much time on your hands. On the other hand, maybe you need to spend some time down by the lazy river. Either way, you may be all shook up. :-)
As the blogger, I get the last word. LOL
