I've been to a lot of retirement ceremonies within law enforcement and to be honest they are very forgetful. It has always been a somewhat sad occasion for me. I've seen great police officers that have spent decades making a difference in their community and many agencies simply don't give these heroes the going away that they justly deserve.
You have to take a look at the retirement ceremony of Navy Senior Chief Hank D'Alelio. I get the distinct feeling that this retirement celebration will not be forgotten.
